Steps for Enrollment and Registration (All Pathways)

  1. Attend a MANDATORY CCP Information Session.
    All CCP students planning to attend Durham Tech must attend an information session. Students will learn about Career and College Promise, including pathway options, eligibility requirements, and the process for enrollment and registration. View dates
  2. Verify your Placement.
    A student must demonstrate college readiness in English, reading, and mathematics to be eligible for enrollment in the College Transfer Pathway. Some Career and Technical Education Pathways require placement testing. Use the CCP Test Score Placement Guide below to verify your current qualification status. If necessary, prepare for and complete the NC DAP Reading/English and Math placement tests. The online application must be completed prior to taking the NCDAP in order to obtain a Durham Tech student ID. Visit the Testing Center section to learn more about preparing for the test and to see the current test schedule. Testing is on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Minimum Placement Test Scores Required for Acceptance into College Transfer Pathway
    NC DAP Reading/English is a combined placement test and includes three tests: Reading Comprehension, Revising/Editing, and WritePlacer, an online essay. Students must earn a composite score of 151+ to meet the criteria for enrollment.

    NC DAP Math is 6 modules. Students must score 7 in each module: Operations with Integers, Fractions/Decimals, Proportion/Ratios/Rates/Percent, Expressions, Linear Equations, Graphs and Equations of Lines, and Quadratic Applications.

  3. Complete the online application for admission to CCP at Durham Tech
    (do not use the undergraduate application to Durham Tech; it should have CCP Application in the title)

    At the CCP Information Session you will receive instructions on how to apply as a CCP student. Create an account at CFNC.org. Once you are logged in, access the CCP online application. To ensure you will be able to register on the first day of general registration for new students, submit your application by the CCP priority enrollment dates (Summer: March 15; Fall: June 1; Spring: October 15).

    June 1: Final day to submit CCP application (application closes on June 2)
    June 8: All required paperwork including test scores must be received. Incomplete paperwork cannot be processed and may result in student missing final advising and registration deadlines. Please pay careful attention to required signatures and dates. Homeschool transcripts should include a high school graduation date.
    June 29: Final advising date
    July 15: Final registration date
  4. Complete the verification form to confirm eligibility.
    Each student is required to submit an Eligibility Verification form completed by their high school that confirms the student’s: high school status, GPA, Pathway recommendation, placement scores, and progress toward graduation. The verification from will be provided at the information session and the completed form must be signed and returned to Durham Tech by the high school (either faxed or emailed by your counselor).

    Upon verification of program eligibility, students will receive a link to our advising calendar. All required paperwork must be submitted and verified to schedule an advising meeting. All students must be advised EACH semester to register for classes. CCP students have different dates for completing their registration. The final registration date for fall 2018 is July 15.
  5. Activate your ConnectMail, WebAdvisor Accounts, and Self-Service Accounts
    ConnectMail is your official Durham Tech student email account. You should use this account to communicate with your instructors and college staff. WebAdvisor and Self-Service are the student information and online registration systems. Use WebAdvisor to set up your initial account, then use Self-Service to check your test scores, view your transcript, register for classes, and review your grades. You will learn more about activating these accounts at the mandatory information session.
  6. Register for classes during your priority registration period.
    Once your course request are approved during advising, online registration through Self-Service is your responsibility.
  7. Register for courses when new student registration opens.
    Registration dates are listed on the website and will be discussed during advising.
  8. Obtain your student ID, parking pass or DATA GoPass, and purchase books.
    Student IDs and passes are provided through the security office, Building 8, Durham Campus, or at the Orange County Campus. Students are responsible for obtaining their books at the Durham Tech Bookstore or using a vendor of your choice.
  9. Begin classes! Check your student schedule in Self-Service for class days and times.
